Resolving File Conflicts

SmartSync Pro provides several options for resolving file conflicts. A conflict happens when the same file has been modified on both the Source Directory and the Destination Directory. There is an option in SmartSync Pro to handle file conflicts automatically or to prompt you for an action every time there is a conflict.
The Resolving File Conflicts dialog has the following controls:

The file name.

The source directory of the file.

Operation
|
The operation to perform on the conflicting files. There are several options:
| • | Rename - Each file will be copied under a new name FileName " [2]" FileExt. For example: file "Invoice.doc" will be copied as "Invoice [2].doc". You should manually merge these two versions of the file. |
| • | To Destination - Replaces the file in the Destination directory with the file from the Source directory. |
| • | To Source - Replaces the file in the Source directory with the file from the Destination directory. |
| • | Copy Latest - Compares the file time from both locations and replaces the older file with the newer file. |
| • | Skip Copying - Skips making any changes and doesn’t replace any files. |

The destination directory of the file.

|
The file time in the Source directory.

Dest. Modified
|
The file time in the Destination directory.

Src. Size
|
The file size in the Source directory.
|
Dest. Size
|
The file size in the Destination directory.

Rename, To Dest >, < To Source, Copy Latest, Skip Copying
|
Assigns the respective operation to selected files.

Select All
|
Selects all files in the file list.

Deselect All
|
Clears selection in the file list.
