Resolving File Conflicts

SmartSync Pro provides several options for resolving file conflicts. A conflict happens when the same file has been modified on both the Remote computer and the Destination Folder. There is an option in SmartSync Pro to handle file conflicts automatically or to prompt you for an action every time there is a conflict.

The Resolving File Conflicts dialog has the following controls:

Item	Description
Name	The file name.
Folder	The destination folder of the file.
Operation	The operation to perform on the conflicting files. There are several options: •Rename - Each file will be copied under a new name FileName " [2]" FileExt. For example: file "Invoice.doc" will be copied as "Invoice [2].doc". You should manually merge these two versions of the file. •Overwrite - Overwrites the file in the destination folder with the file from the package. •Copy Latest - Compares the file time from both locations and replaces the file in the destination folder if file in the package is newer. •Skip Copying - Skips making any changes and doesn’t replace any files.
Src. Modified	The file time in the package.
Dest. Modified	The file time in the destination folder.
Src. Size	The file size in the package.
Dest. Size	The file size in the destination folder.
Rename, To Dest >, < To Source, Copy Latest, Skip Copying	Assigns the respective operation to selected files
Select All	Selects all files in the file list.
Deselect All	Clears the selection in the file list.
