The Upgrade wizard provides an easy way to get the latest version of SmartSync Pro using your active Internet connection. Point releases generally contain maintenance updates such as bug fixes and minor feature additions.
To check for upgrades:
•Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
•In SmartSync Pro, select Upgrade Wizard from the Help menu.
The Upgrade Wizard window appears.
•Click the Settings... button to set proxy server and reminder options.
The Advanced Settings dialog appears.
•In the Advanced Settings dialog, set the following:
If you access the Internet through a firewall or proxy server, then click the Specify proxy server information radio button, and specify your proxy server’s host name, port number and type. Check with your network administrator for help on these options.
In the Reminder Interval section of the dialog, set the frequency at which you want the Upgrade wizard to automatically check for updates, or select Never and then run the Upgrade wizard manually to check for upgrades.
Automatic checks are performed only when SmartSync Pro is running.
•Click OK to close the Advanced Settings dialog, and click Next in the Upgrade Wizard window.
The Upgrade wizard checks the Internet for newer versions of SmartSync Pro. If one is found, and you choose to install it, SmartSync Pro downloads files into the temporary folder. The Wizard will the quit SmartSync Pro and run the new installer. A message will tell you if you have the latest version of the program or not.
